"Masks" I like To Use - Part 1

Besides the monthly professional facial treatments and the at-home use devices, another important role to anti-aging regime is the facial mask treatments.

There are so many different types of facial masks are selling in the stores so which one should I use? We all have different skin types, and concerns about our own skin so today I am going share with you the masks I like to use and how I use them during the days I am not getting the professional skin treatments.

The bottom line is you can actually save a lot of money if you are doing the mask treatment correctly on your own instead of spending money at the spas for the similar treatments. So now let’s begin to talk about my favorite masks and routine!

Pevonia Botanica: Balancing Combination Skin Mask

What is it: A purifying, balancing and firming mask for combination skin.

This mask is suitable for normal, oily, and combination skin. IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR DRY SKIN. I have combination skin so I only use this mask once a week during spring/summer seasons because it is when my skin tends to have extra oil around my T-Zone and causes the pores to clog.

Since it is a purifying mask, so I almost never use it during winter because it is the time of the year that my skin often feels dry. But if you feel your pores are getting clogged, it is okay to use the mask when needed just make sure you avoid the areas around the eyes and cheeks so you don’t over dry your skin while using this mask and receive the unexpected result.

Overall I like this mask a lot especially the scent and I feel my skin is cleaned every time I use it. I think it is important for everyone to own at least one Purifying /Firming Mask because only the cleanest skin allows the product ingredient to absorb and clogged pores only turns the expensive product to a waste.

Peter Thomas Roth: Radiance Oxygenating Masque

What is it: A radiance-boosting mask for dull, dehydrated, lackluster and aging skin.

I love this mask! It is a wonderful “quick fix” before putting on the glamorous makeup to events and parties. This Oxygenating Masque has the special formula to create an illuminating, nourishing and evening complexion. It also helps to diminish fine lines and wrinkles by supplying skin with pure oxygen. It also contains Antioxidants-rich botanical so it nourishes, protects, conditions, and softens the skin. The best part of this mask is it evens my skin tone and hydrates my skin so the makeup stays in my skin more naturally.

It is a MUST HAVE mask if you want your face to look radiant and glows throughout the night! You can use it on the weekly basis though I only use it before a big night out. It is definitely a great product to buy!

Eminence: Yam & Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask

What is it: An exfoliating peel that refines skin and boosts collagen for smoother, firmer skin.

We all know dead skin cells are the biggest enemy to a full looking skin and also the reason of fine lines and wrinkles. Here is a product I highly recommend to you. I was first introduced by an aesthetician who did an "organic peel" on me. It is the same ingredients except it is not as abrasive as the peels done by the professionals.

I like it a lot because it is very gentle unlike the traditional scrubs, instead, it's a mask! This incredibly aromatic peel exfoliates the skin without feeling any irritation. It also hydrates and helps to stimulate collagen. It smells yummy because it is made with all natural yam and pumpkins enzymes. The formula features organically grown ingredients with vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants like Biocomplex, a blend of vitamins A, Ester-C and E, Coenzyme Q10 and Alpha Lipoic Acid.

Though it is important to exfoliate, I learned not to over do it. Once a week is enough unless necessary. This mask is gentle and it doesn't thin the skin. Too much exfoliance makes skin sensitive to UV and results sun damages, as well as creating excessive oil, making your skin looks like a dried orange peel.

SK-II: Signature Facial Treatment Masks (Sheets)

What is it: A relaxing full facial treatment that provides intense hydration and revitalizes skin.

This is one and only product I highly recommend everyone to invest on, especially if you are not a regular to the spas. The mask is a luxurious sheet of cotton mask that soaks with Pitera's fusion of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids which leaves hydration in your skin for minimum of 3 days. The result is so obvious that you can skip a facial treatment at the spa. I was taught by the SK-II specialist that there are two ways to use this mask. Both has its benefit but I like to use apply it when it's warm.

1. Soak the mask (unopened) in a bowl of hot water for few minutes before applying on the face. The benefit is locking the hydration in the skin and for also another layer of relaxation.

2. Refrigerate the mask (unopened) for few minutes. The cooling sensation is perfect for post sun bath. It hydrates and soothes the skin.

Though the package says to use once to twice a week, I think once is good enough. The idea is to alternate different masks on different days during the week so you can receive different benefit from different mask.

Stay tuned! This is only Part 1. I have more masks I like to share with you soon.
